New Year, New Trails – Let’s Get Outside in 2025! 🌿
We’re linking up with Black Girls Hike UK for our first-ever mixed-gender hike. This one’s for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned explorer or just starting your outdoor journey, this family-friendly walk through the stunning Peak District is going to be one for the books.

2025 is here, and it’s the perfect time to switch things up, step outside, and soak in some nature. What better way to start the year than by joining us for a special event that’s about fresh air, good energy, and meaningful connections?
We’re linking up with Black Girls Hike UK for our first-ever mixed-gender hike. This one’s for everyone – whether you’re a seasoned explorer or just starting your outdoor journey, this family-friendly walk through the stunning Peak District is going to be one for the books.
Mixed Gender Hike Details
📍 Location: Longshaw Estate & Padley Gorge Walk, Peak District
📅 Date: Sunday 23rd February 2025
⏰ Meeting Time: 10:00am
🚶♂️ Start Time: 10:30am sharp
🌟 Difficulty: Easy/Moderate
🌳 Distance: 5.9 km (3.7 mi)
⏳ Duration: 4 Hours (Approx)
This circular trail is all about blending ancient woodlands, breathtaking views, and a touch of history. Padley Gorge is a hidden gem – with flowing streams, rare oak-birch woodlands, and even ancient relics scattered across the land. It’s also one of the furthest inland examples of temperate rainforest in the UK. Whether you’re here for the nature, history, or just a chance to escape the daily grind, this walk’s got you covered.
What You Need to Know
Terrain: Woodland trails, some inclines, steps, and possibly muddy paths – hiking boots are a must.
What to Bring: Snacks, water, weather-appropriate gear, and a blanket or mat if you fancy sitting down for lunch.
Facilities: Toilets are available at Grindleford train station.

Who Can Attend?
Black Girls Hike UK is a safe space for Black/Mixed Race cis and trans women and non-binary people of Black African and/or Caribbean descent.
Mandem Meetup is all about creating a space for men to support each other and improve the conversation around mental health.
Cost: No minimum donation for this hike, but contributions are always welcome. Every penny helps us grow and keep this movement alive.
