New Meetup Spaces, Basketball & Real Change for Men & Boys

What’s good! We’ve got a few updates for you—new spaces to talk, a big day on the court, and a serious plan for real change. Let’s get into it.

STANDING UP FOR MALE SURVIVORS

We’ll kick it off with something big. Right now, men and boys who experience domestic abuse, sexual violence, and other forms of harm are still being categorised under crimes against women and girls. This is a huge problem—it stops men from coming forward, stops them from getting the right support, and makes them feel invisible.

But change is coming. The world’s first-ever plan to combat Violence Against Men & Boys (VAMB) is being developed. It’s about making sure male survivors get a proper, trauma-informed response, with services built for them, not as an afterthought.

Mandem Meetup is proud to be part of this movement—fighting to make sure men and boys are seen, heard, and supported. This isn’t only what these victims deserve but also critical to making a city-region inclusive for everyone.

NEW TALKING CIRCLE – SALE

We’re growing the movement! If you’re in or around Sale, we’ve got a brand-new Talking Circle kicking off at Rack, School Rd. Every 1st & 3rd Monday at 6pm, we’re opening the space for real convos—whether you wanna talk, listen, or just be around good energy, come through. No judgement, no pressure, just support.

BASKETBALL & VIBE – 8TH MARCH

Mandem Meetup is bringing the heat with a 4v4 basketball tournament at Gorton Park, 12pm. Expect:

NEW DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS AND GAMING GROUP

Attention all gamers! Our latest group is the MandemQuest Dungeons and Dragons tabletop roleplaying and board game crew, now playing every Wednesday evening from 6pm at the Lamb Hotel, Regent Road, Eccles. Beginners are very welcome.

The Mandem Game Masters will help you:

• Create your own character

• Join a breezy one-shot or one of our more hardcore ongoing campaigns

• Express yourself with new friends in a fun and open environment

• Learn how to run games yourself if you fancy it
