Mandem FC’s First Match, Forage With The Mandem, New Van on Road & Prison Work Goin’ Strong!

From launching our very first Mandem FC match to rolling out a brand-new van for free travel, plus dropping a community-led foraging app and supporting men rebuilding life after prison — this month’s been all about breaking barriers, creating access, and moving with purpose.

Yo, What’s Happening?

Big tings happening! We’ve got some wicked updates for you, so lock in for a quick read 👇

⚽ MANDEM FC’S FIRST GAME!
You heard right – Mandem FC is OFFICIAL now! Our first-ever game is happening This Sunday against Sands United FC at Astley Sports Village, kick off at 4:15PM. Come support the Mandem, show some love and catch the first glimpse of what we’re buildin’ – there’s a also whole identity behind this movement that’s slowly comin’ together... keep your eyes peeled 👀

🌿 NEW: Forage with the Mandem App Now Live! We’ve just dropped something different – the Forage with the Mandem web-app is now live! It’s a free platform within our website where you can find local spots to forage fresh ingredients and link it up with simple, healthy recipes straight from the community. Got a belting dish or a go-to location you want to share? You can submit it directly through the app and get it featured – powered by the Mandem (in partnership with Manchester Climate Change Agency & In Our Nature), for the Mandem. Go explore, cook something nice, and connect with nature while you’re at it!

🚐 NEW VAN WHO DIS?
We’ve copped a Mandem Mobile! It ain’t just for show – it’s here to break down the barriers and get more of the Mandem out and about with FREE travel to Meetups, sessions, and Events. But here’s the plug: we’re looking for sponsors to help keep this van rolling. Fancy your logo cruising up and down the country? Give us a shout – let’s make it happen.

🧱 SUPPORTING MEN AFTER PRISON
Our Outside Outspoken programme is focused on supporting men once they’ve come out of the system. We link them up with real-world essentials – housing, therapy, employment guidance, and most importantly, people who actually care. It’s about helping them rebuild, stay grounded, and not feel like they’ve been left behind. Everyone deserves a real second chance – and we’re making sure they get one.

Lastly – if you want to support what we’re doing and wanna see us level up? Become a monthly donor. Even a couple of quid helps us keep moving forward.

Stay blessed, stay loud,
– The Mandem Meetup Team
